2026 Infant Mental Health Child Psychiatry Fellow
">Role Overview:The Royal Children's Hospital is seeking a dynamic and thoughtful child psychiatrist to fill a 12-month fellowship position in infant mental health. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop clinical skills in working with infants and young children.
As an interdisciplinary team member, you will work closely with the IMH consultant psychiatrist and team coordinator to gain experience in assessment, diagnosis, and interventions for infants aged 0-4 years. You will also participate in clinical liaison and consultation activities, as well as attend interdisciplinary team meetings, ward rounds, and clinical supervision.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess and diagnose infants aged 0-4 years who present with mental health problems
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives
- Current registration as a medical practitioner
- Completed specialist training in child psychiatry
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
