About 1 hour a week/fortnight over 6 months

- Befriend and spend quality time with lonely seniors

We are looking for volunteers from Canberra, ACT to help keep seniors socially connected with their local communities.

The role:

  • Laugh, chat, and give purpose to someone's life through social visits to a senior client in their own home
  • Help a senior connect to their community by ensuring reliable transport, accompanying them to events and outings
  • Share your interests and hobbies, making a difference in someone's life

Requirements:

  • Client-focused service skills
  • Compassion, patience, observation and listening skills
  • Willingness to undergo a free national police check
  • Covid vaccinations and valid evidence

Bonus points:

  • Previous experience working with or volunteering with seniors
  • Current unrestricted Driver's Licence and registered insured vehicle
  • Safe and confident driver with good driving history
