Reporting to the Employee and Industrial Relations Director, as a senior member of the Human Resources and Organization team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-level strategic and operational guidance to business leaders on employee and industrial relations matters, including identifying risks, initiatives, trends, and contemporary best practices;
  • Staying informed about changes in industrial relations legislation, regulations, and policies, ensuring leadership teams comprehend the practical implications of such developments;
  • Collaborating with Projects and leaders to uphold sound ER/IR practices in alignment with the organization's ER/IR framework across various jurisdictions and industries;
  • Offering support and guidance to HR Business Partners and working effectively with HR Managers and Project leaders to enhance the credibility, capability, and confidence of our function;
  • Proactively contributing to business development efforts, analyzing tender approaches, and providing tailored advice based on research on wage trends, terms and conditions, and industry-specific issues;
  • Managing critical business risks and developing and implementing approved IR/ER contingency plans to mitigate impacts on the organization;
  • Overseeing industrial negotiations and responses to industrial disputes or other significant business risks.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to cultivate sustainable and collaborative relationships with stakeholders, even in challenging environments;
  • Thorough understanding of sound industrial relations principles and practices and their interaction with business performance;
  • A data-driven approach to decision-making and advice, skilled in collecting, analyzing, and distilling a wide range of information for informed decision-making in complex situations;
  • Proven experience as an IR/ER or workplace relations specialist with exposure to intricate industrial environments;
  • Strong problem-solving skills, complemented by the discipline to ensure decisions align with overall business objectives;
  • Demonstrated experience in executing and driving strategies and practices to ensure compliance with statutory and governmental standards.
