About the Role

The New Endings Men's Outreach Worker is a critical position within our organization, responsible for addressing the holistic needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men. This role involves assisting individuals to access and utilize existing services, as well as navigating the health and social services system through culturally appropriate principles and strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement culturally safe and effective programs to address the health and social needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community organizations, public sector agencies, and healthcare providers.
  • Provide education and support to individuals and families to promote healthy lifestyles and improve health outcomes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men.
Requirements
  • Indigenous status as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.
  • Experience in health promotion, education, and community development, with a focus on culturally appropriate practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
