About the Opportunity

This is an exciting role that involves identifying opportunities within a defined market segment, preparing bids and proposals, and assisting with the development of business strategy for growth.

The ideal candidate will have advanced technical education and 9+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. They will also have proven business development or capture experience within defence or government markets.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Contribute to business growth by engaging with customers and stakeholders, undertaking market shaping activities, and providing subject matter expertise and advice.
    • Lead bids and proposals by coordinating inputs, providing networking and scheduling data, and producing comprehensive proposals.
    • Develop campaign strategies, customer contact plans, and provide formal briefings to senior management.
    • Assist in developing business strategy by providing relevant market data and current assessments of opportunities.
    • Enhance the business profile by maintaining contacts with existing and potential customers.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Advanced technical education and 9+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven business development or capture experience within defence or government markets.
  • Strong understanding of engineering/technical concepts.
  • Deep knowledge of the Australian Defence Force procurement environment, processes, and procedures.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship management skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Direct maritime domain experience and knowledge of uncrewed systems in military, para-military, or commercial settings.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Experience in training and sustainment operations in defence or commercial environments.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
  • Ability to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
