Job Title: Platform Architect - Dynamics 365 and Azure

Our client, a leading Queensland Government agency, is seeking an experienced Platform Architect to support a major customer-facing program. The Information Services team plays a critical role in delivering IT infrastructure, platform support, and digital solutions across various departmental business units.

In this role, the Application Platform Architect will be responsible for ensuring the platform can evolve securely and efficiently. The focus will be on enabling continuous improvement and scalability to meet current and emerging business needs.

  • Developing and maintaining the technical roadmap for Dynamics 365 solutions, including integrations with other systems and Azure services in alignment with business objectives.
  • Providing technical expertise and advice to key business and executive stakeholders and guidance to implementation and support teams, ensuring successful implementation and adoption of solutions.
  • Review standards, guidelines and best practices for platform use and integration
  • Maintaining and improving the performance, scalability, governance and reliability of Dynamics 365 and Azure environments ensuring they support current and future business needs.
Key Responsibilities:Technical Roadmap Development:
  • Develop and maintain the technical roadmap for Dynamics 365 solutions, including integrations with other systems and Azure services in alignment with business objectives.
Technical Expertise:
  • Provide technical expertise and advice to key business and executive stakeholders and guidance to implementation and support teams, ensuring successful implementation and adoption of solutions.
Platform Use and Integration:
  • Review standards, guidelines and best practices for platform use and integration
Performance and Reliability:
  • Maintain and improve the performance, scalability, governance and reliability of Dynamics 365 and Azure environments ensuring they support current and future business needs.

Essential requirements include a flexible approach to solution development and consultation, strong communication skills, and experience working with application teams, infrastructure teams, DevOps, security, and product owners. Knowledge of enterprise architecture principles, cloud-hosted and on-premise services, and configurable-off-the-shelf (COTS) application platforms is also required. Additionally, ability to translate functional and non-functional requirements into solution component architectures, understanding of information security and privacy practices, and experience with data management practices are essential.

The ideal candidate will have a high level of verbal communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team and with third-party suppliers. Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFE) methodology is desirable.
