Procurement Lead

Our organization is seeking a dedicated and skilled Procurement Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely supply of materials and services, and establishing effective relationships with suppliers.

About the Role

The Procurement Lead will play a critical role in developing and implementing the project's procurement plan, collaborating closely with procurement and project managers/coordinators to ensure seamless execution. Key responsibilities include:

  • Cultivating and maintaining strategic partnerships with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Managing the tender process, including preparation and issuance of comprehensive tender documentation
  • Developing award proposals for presentation to the leadership team
  • Collaborating regularly with the delivery team to forecast procurement needs and schedules
  • Overseeing the setup and management of on-site stores
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (preferably in a field related to procurement or construction)
  • Proven experience in a similar project procurement management role, preferably within the context of electrical major infrastructure or construction projects
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage large procurement packages from conception through to implementation
  • Sound knowledge of civil construction materials and services
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation prowess, and exceptional interpersonal skills
