· $110K – $130K p.a. + super (amount is based on FTE; pay is pro-rata) depending on skills, qualifications and experience
About the role
The Consultant, Sustainable Procurement is responsible for contributing to the direction, development, management and delivery of sustainable procurement services to LGP customers. The incumbent will support the awareness of the advantages of implementing sustainable procurement and guide and support NSW councils to help them work toward procuring products and services that have economic, environmental, and social benefits.
The position is within Sustainable Choice in the Strategic Procurement Solutions team and reports to Senior Consultant, Sustainable Procurement. Sustainable Choice is our dedicated sustainable procurement service assisting local government to integrate sustainability into their procurement process.
The position will be responsible for delivering existing products and services, while also identifying, researching and developing new revenue generating Sustainable Choice streams
The position will also actively contribute to achieving deliverables against LGP's Strategic Plan.
A continuously growing and developing role that is only limited by the incumbent's level of initiative. Innovation will be actively encouraged, and viable solutions supported to come to fruition.
Key accountabilities
· Raising the quality of sustainable procurement consulting services to make LGP Strategic Procurement Solutions the preferred choice of NSW Local Government.
· Successfully deliver Sustainable Choice products and services.
· Identify, research and develop new revenue generating Sustainable Choice products and services.
· Deliver against the defined Sustainable Choice annual Key Performance Indicators.
· Deliver projects within the LGP Project Management Framework.
· Positively contribute to achievement of set targets and Key Performance Indicators for the LGP Strategic Procurement Solutions team.
Key responsibilities
· Actively keep up to date with and research sustainable procurement related issues that impact local government both current and emerging.
· Actively identify, develop and successfully introduce new solutions.
· Contribute to the successful continuation and development of existing Sustainable Choice products and Services.
· Develop sustainable procurement related newsletter articles.
· Manage, promote and host webinars.
· Present at conference and networking events as required.
· Preparation and distribution of the Annual Sustainable Procurement Survey.
· Data collection and preparation of Annual Sustainable Procurement Scorecards and performance reports.
· Contribute to the development of sustainable procurement training modules and courses.
· Contribute to the inclusion and evaluation of sustainability in LGP tenders.
· Actively contribute to achieving deliverables against LGP's Strategic Plan.
About you
You will have a degree level qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. sustainability, environment, science) or demonstrated equivalent experience.
You will have demonstrated experience in a sustainability focussed role and preferably also procurement (but not necessary).
You can demonstrate that you are a very efficient and productive worker with a can-do/I'll give it a go attitude.
You are someone with strong initiative to learn and research relevant topics to develop, enhance and grow knowledge in sustainable procurement and how it relates particularly to local government.
You will have demonstrated ability to work with a commercial focus and view to identify, develop and deliver new revenue generating products and services.
You will have demonstrated ability to work autonomously.
You can demonstrate that you are passionate about sustainability and have an understanding and ability to translate it into procurement practice.
You are an effective communicator and work well within a collaborative team environment.
You are innovative and forward thinking, with a proven ability to generate new ideas and approaches that drive sustainable outcomes.
You have strong project management skills, with experience in planning, coordinating and delivering projects on time and within scope.
