
Living Experience Governance Expert

As a member of the Lived and Living Experience Authority, you will play a crucial role in driving organizational change and ensuring that the voices of people with lived experience are represented at all levels. You will be responsible for supporting and enabling the Board and CEO to hold themselves accountable to participants of our programs and communities served.
Key responsibilities include influencing thinking and decisions by sharing lived experience perspectives, providing advice and making recommendations on specific issues, engaging in ongoing conversation around challenges of transformation and elevating lived experience expertise, connecting into operational level lived experience advisory groups, and developing capability and pathways into lived experience governance level roles within the organization.

Required Skills and Qualifications:- Demonstrated lived experience expertise
- Prioritization of lived experience in decision-making
- Upholding recovery values and championing the peer movement
- Acknowledgment of strength in vulnerability and support for diverse lived experiences
- Articulation of distinctions between consumer and carer perspectives
- Advocacy for justice in governance through rebalancing power and challenging stereotypes
- Engagement in authentic coproduction and work from rights-based principles
- Mobilization of strategic impact on governance with a focus on long-term change
- Effective communication and leadership skills
Members of the Lived and Living Experience Authority can expect to gain valuable experience and skills, contribute to organizational change, and make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and communities.
Others:Key requirements include availability for in-person and online meetings, preparation for meetings including reading papers, and follow-up on action agreements. Members are also expected to obtain relevant certifications and undergo background checks.
