Disease Prevention Specialist

This role plays a key part in strategy, governance, and coordination for a nationally significant research centre.
The Executive Officer protects the organisation from infectious disease threats and supports the team in managing and administering the facility.
- Provide high-level advice and support to the Directorate on stakeholder and external interactions.
- Independently formulate, coordinate & prepare responses to internal and external information requests, and reporting requirements.
- Analyse complex or ambiguous issues, develop appropriate responses, and make sound decisions under pressure or with limited information.
- Coordinate internal and external reporting requirements, planning activities, and leadership meetings.
- Lead or manage sensitive projects aligned with the organisation's strategy and research priorities.
Key qualifications include:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (e.g. biological or animal sciences).
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- High-level organisational skills.
- Project management experience.
