Job Title: Senior Director, Health Safety Leadership

We are seeking an experienced leader to spearhead the health, safety, wellbeing and environment functions across our organisation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing tailored frameworks, procedures, policies and programs to mitigate risk and foster a culture of safety excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exemplify best practice health and safety leadership by providing specialist advice, guidance and support to senior executives and frontline supervisors.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of applicable regulatory requirements, including legislation, national and international standards and codes of practice.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Provide strategic support to managers and stakeholders to ensure effective management of health and safety risks.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive audit program, reviewing against legislative requirements, company guidelines and safety management plans.
  • Work collaboratively with security and compliance teams to develop and implement long-term strategies to ensure regulatory compliance across all regions.
  • Oversee the identification and mitigation of hazards, incident investigation and reporting, and monitor the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Lead the review of high-consequence events, including injury management, site restoration and investigation coordination.
  • Maintain oversight of the Safety Management System (SMS), ensuring business unit and site management are coached and mentored in its implementation and delivery.
  • Develop and implement environmental strategies, policies and action plans to promote sustainable development.
