Lead Structural Engineering Opportunity

As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will have the chance to lead and develop our Sydney team while working on diverse water infrastructure projects.

We are seeking an experienced professional with a passion for structural engineering to support our national industrial and water business.

As a key leader in the Sydney Structural team, you will drive successful project outcomes through effective team leadership and mentorship.

The role involves managing end-to-end project delivery, including design, documentation, and construction support. You will also have opportunities to mentor junior engineers and grow professionally in a supportive environment.

You will be responsible for leading structural designs for steel structures in hydraulic structures, pump stations, service reservoirs, treatment facilities, and general industrial projects.

In this multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with experts from various fields to deliver innovative solutions. You will have a collaborative working style, embracing interdisciplinary teamwork, and a commitment to continuous learning and career development.

The ideal candidate will have a Chartered Professional Engineer qualification, a bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering, and significant experience in steel structures design. Experience with concrete or liquid retaining structures is desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will have excellent technical and communication skills, with a desire to lead and mentor teams and ensure project success. They will also be highly organized and a strong team player.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end project delivery, including design, documentation, and construction support.
  • Lead structural designs for steel structures in hydraulic structures, pump stations, service reservoirs, treatment facilities, and general industrial projects.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support their growth and development.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Ensure project success through effective team leadership and mentorship.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Professional Engineer qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering
  • Significant experience in steel structures design
  • Excellent technical and communication skills
  • Desirable: experience with concrete or liquid retaining structures
