Aboriginal Mental Health Services Coordinator

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Aboriginal Mental Health Clinician to join our team. This role will provide recovery-focused, person-centred and culturally competent services to individuals with mental illness, distress and/or risk issues.
About the Role:
As an Aboriginal Mental Health Clinician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to consumers and their families in a holistic manner that promotes self-determination within the principles of mental health rehabilitation, recovery framework and strengths-based approach.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality, safe and connected care to consumers and their families in a person-centred, holistic manner that promotes self-determination within the principles of mental health rehabilitation, recovery framework and strengths-based approach.* Engage and collaborate with consumers, families, carers and other stakeholders through demonstrated high-level communication skills.* Utilize knowledge of Electronic Medical Records and Microsoft Office programs to ensure accuracy and efficiency.* Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide input into the development of plans and strategies for improving mental health outcomes for Aboriginal communities.* Work collaboratively with local Aboriginal community leaders and organizations to promote cultural awareness and understanding.
Requirements:
* Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent and have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures with established links with the local Aboriginal community.* Tertiary qualification Bachelor Health Science (Mental Health), or qualifications and current registration with AHPRA for Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers for Social Workers.* Current unrestricted drivers license and ability to drive/travel as required, including potential long distances and overnight stays.* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
