About the Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced communications professional to join our Media and Communications Delivery Branch at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist media advice and coordinate responses to media enquiries
  • Facilitate media background briefings and prepare and review media products
  • Support DFAT's response to international crises and provide media support for domestic and overseas Ministerial visits
  • Develop and implement communications strategies for foreign, trade and development policy and consular priorities
  • Manage the content on DFAT's intranet, website, and ministerial websites
Requirements
  • APS Level 6 / Executive Level 1 qualifications
  • Relevant professional experience and qualifications
  • Ability to engage at all levels across the department, including overseas posts and with other agencies
