Key Responsibilities

The General Manager is accountable for overseeing airport operations, ensuring safety, security, and efficiency. They will provide strategic direction, leadership, and support to a team of employees, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve operational excellence.


Duties and Accountabilities
  • Manage all aspects of flight operations, including customer service, ramp and baggage, operations, catering, security, and premium services.
  • Direct and monitor procedures to ensure safe and efficient aircraft turnaround activities.
  • Assign responsibility for specified work or functional activities and disseminate policies to supervisors.
  • Resolve service and operational issues escalated by supervisors and team leads.
  • Compile reports on operational irregularities and develop corrective action plans.
  • Manage critical situations, including responses to escalations and emergencies.
  • BUILD EFFECTIVE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITH INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDER GROUPS.
  • Ensure company standards of safety and quality are always maintained, fostering continuous improvement to elevate performance and service delivery outcomes.
  • Take overall responsibility for meeting strategic goals in operational performance and cost control.
  • Negotiate with contractors, suppliers, and airport authorities on behalf of the organization.
  • Address a wide range of issues that arise during daily operations and address negative performance with relevant teams and stakeholder groups.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stations to achieve efficiency.
  • Develop and build team engagement and capability to improve team performance.
  • Support employee hire, promotion, discharge, or transfer processes.
  • Perform other duties and project work as requested.
  • Travel regionally and to head office meetings as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience in airport operations, airlines, or ground service providers.
  • Demonstrated people leadership capability in complex operational environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage cross-functional insourced and outsourced work groups.
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities and tasks.
  • Experience in managing projects, including station openings and seasonal operations.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Strong people and leadership skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to apply initiative and judgment and achieve deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular hours to travel, manage disruptions, and attend meetings.
  • MUST HOLD OR BE ABLE TO OBTAIN ASIC (AVIATION SECURITY IDENTIFICATION CARD) & SECURITY CLEARANCES.
  • Must be available for reasonable domestic and international travel.
