Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Property Manager to join our team. This role focuses on the strategic management of land acquisitions, providing expert property advice to staff and departments related to S7.11 contribution items and land access requests.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist with property acquisitions and disposals for planning purposes, including council infrastructure in existing and new release areas.
  • Review, assess, negotiate and manage developer land dedications/transfers, preparing relevant correspondence and facilitating transactions.
  • Review and assess granting easements associated with infrastructure projects, preparing relevant correspondence and facilitating transactions.
  • Review and assess road closure & sale applications, preparing relevant correspondence and facilitating sales transactions.
  • Provide advice on pre-lodgement requests dealing with land acquisition items.
  • Project manage specific property-related projects.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders for property contracts, leases and licences.
About You
  1. Tertiary qualifications in Land Economics, Real Estate or a related field and/or equivalent experience.
  2. Demonstrated experience working in land acquisition matters.
  3. Knowledge and experience in land acquisitions, valuation of property under the provisions of the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act and application of the Local Government Act.
  4. Experience in negotiation, implementation and facilitation of agreements over granting easements and road closures.
  5. Effective customer service skills and experience managing customer enquiries.
  6. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders in relation to the property portfolio and land acquisitions program.
  7. Project management experience and ability to prepare detailed property reports.
  8. Proficiency in computer software applications, including Word, Excel and property-related databases.
