Job Title: Senior Property Officer

This is a strategic management role that focuses on the Council's land acquisitions and provides property advice to staff and departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, and infrastructure projects.
  • Review, assess, and manage developer land dedications/transfers and easements associated with infrastructure projects.
  • Manage Road Closure & Sale applications and provide advice on Pre-Lodgement requests dealing with land acquisition items.
  • Project Manage specific property-related projects.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders for property contracts, leases, and licenses.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Land Economics, Real Estate, or a related discipline.
  • Current Class C driver's license.
  • Experience working in land acquisition matters.
  • Knowledge of land acquisitions and valuation under the provisions of the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act.
  • Experience negotiating agreements, facilitating easements and road closures, and managing customer enquiries.
  • Project Management experience with the ability to prepare detailed property reports.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, including Word, Excel, and property-related databases.
