Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Medical Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team in Old Age Psychiatry. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with patients, families, and carers in a dynamic and supportive environment.

The role involves providing high-quality patient care, participating in medical education and research, and contributing to the development of clinical policies and procedures. As a Senior Medical Practitioner, you will be expected to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team.

You will be working closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care to patients with complex mental health needs. Your expertise will be valuable in helping us achieve our goal of delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A medical degree from a recognized institution
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Advanced training in old age psychiatry, with a focus on patient-centered care
  • Experience in teaching, mentoring, and supervision of junior medical staff
  • Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications and their applications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and carers
