We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist to join our Older Persons Mental Health service at a leading metropolitan hospital in Queensland. This Consultant position offers a unique blend of clinical expertise and teaching responsibilities, with opportunities for research and community-based service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric services within the Older Persons Mental Health service, including inpatient and community-based care.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care and improve treatment outcomes.

Our 750-bed teaching hospital serves a large and diverse population, providing a wide range of healthcare services, including:

  • A 50-bed psychiatric unit with an ICU sub-unit, offering specialized care for patients with complex mental health needs.
  • An acute young adult unit, providing crisis intervention and stabilization for adolescents and young adults experiencing severe mental health episodes.
  • A child and youth unit, delivering evidence-based treatments and support for children and adolescents struggling with mental health issues.
  • An aged care unit, focusing on the mental health needs of older adults, with a strong emphasis on prevention, early intervention, and recovery-oriented care.
