Research Specialist in Metamaterials Development

The position involves conducting research with Professor Michael Fuhrer FAA and Professor Stefan Maier to study ultrafast light-matter interactions in graphene metamaterials.
The main goal is to develop efficient thermoradiative devices for harvesting energy from the cold night sky.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct research using ultrafast laser spectroscopy in the visible, mid-infrared, and terahertz ranges.
- Design and simulate graphene metamaterials for strong light-matter interactions in the mid-infrared range.
- Fabricate structures at a nanofabrication facility.
- Measure optical and electrical properties of the materials.
A PhD in Physics, Materials Engineering, or a closely related field is required. Research experience in ultrafast science is essential.
Experience in at least one of the following areas would be highly regarded: (i) metamaterials design and/or fabrication, (ii) graphene and/or other 2D materials measurement, and/or (iii) electronic device measurements.
