Senior Health and Environmental Advisor

This role plays a pivotal part in shaping health, safety, and environmental outcomes across Defence operations.
About the PositionYou will work closely with Program Managers to deliver ADF Ground Support Equipment and Counter-CBRNE contracts. Your expertise will inform risk assessments, incident investigations, and audit activities in high-risk environments where precision and resilience are essential.
Main Responsibilities- Develop and implement tailored HSE protocols for specialized operational contexts, ensuring alignment with Defence standards.
- Provide strategic HSE advice throughout the asset lifecycle, from capability planning and procurement to sustainment.
- Interpret relevant legislation, apply ISO standards (14001, 45001), and analyze HSE data to identify emerging risks and drive continuous improvement.
- Australian Citizen with a valid Defence security clearance or ability to obtain one.
- Qualification in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Risk Management or equivalent engineering-related qualification.
- Previous experience in a similar role within Defence or other high-risk industries.
- Strong understanding of relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards.
- Proficient in root cause analysis and incident investigation methodologies.
- Competent in using HSEQ management systems like Synergi Life.
