Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled Social Impact Strategist to lead our social and community planning initiatives. The successful candidate will develop and implement strategies that promote wellbeing, equity, and resilience across diverse populations.

This is a temporary full-time position for 2 years – with possible extension. You'll have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and collaborate with various stakeholders to shape healthy and inclusive environments.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Design and execute social and community planning strategies, policies, and initiatives that foster social inclusion, equity, wellbeing, and resilience.
  • Conduct thorough Social and Health Impact Assessments (SaHIA) with expertise in land use planning processes and healthy built environment principles.
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with local health districts, government agencies, NGOs, and community groups to co-design responses to emerging needs and advocate for shared priorities.

Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Planning, Social Work/Social Sciences, Urban Planning, Public Health or related fields, and/or extensive demonstrated experience.
  • Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence & Current Working with Children's Check.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using demographic and social data to identify gaps, prepare reports, develop funding proposals, and inform short- to long-term strategic decision-making.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be based at Council's offices in Picton, however, there may be occasional travel to Liverpool Hospital in collaboration with the SWSLHD's Population Health Unit.

You'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and contribute to the development of our social and community planning strategies.
