Note: This position is jointly funded by Council and South Western Sydney Local Health District.
Principal place of work is Council's offices in Picton, with potential up to one day per week at Liverpool Hospital in collaboration with the SWSLHD's Population Health Unit.
Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in Social Planning, Social Work/Social Sciences, Urban Planning, Public Health or related fields, or extensive demonstrated experience Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence & Current Working with Children's Check Understanding of the relationship between the built environment and health and wellbeing outcomes Experience developing, implementing and monitoring social and community planning strategies, policies and place-based initiatives that promote social inclusion, equity, wellbeing and resilience across diverse and growing populations Experience leading Social and Health Impact Assessments (Sa HIA) with knowledge of land use planning processes and healthy built environment principles Strong analytical skills using demographic and social data to inform decision-making and funding proposals Ability to build and maintain partnerships with health districts, government agencies, NGOs, and community groups to co-design responses What we can offer you Located on Sydney's southern fringe, Wollondilly Shire Council spans 2,560 km² of natural bushland, scenic waterways, and vibrant communities.
