Payroll Professional

The Finance team at a dynamic Australian gold producer is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to manage end-to-end payroll for employees using ELMO (KeyPay) software.

This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while providing exceptional support and customer service to leaders and employees across the business. This position reports directly to the Finance Manager and is an integral part of the Finance team.

Responsibilities:

  • Process fortnightly and monthly payroll, including off-cycle payments as required.
  • Monitor and manage the payroll inbox, respond to all payroll-related queries.
  • Support payroll audits as requested.
  • Follow up on all necessary pre-payroll authorizations, such as leave requests, approved timesheets, pay adjustments, and employee allowances.
  • Compile and maintain payroll reports.
  • Develop key relationships in the business.
  • Other tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience using ELMO (Keypay platform) payroll system.
  • High attention to detail and level of accuracy while processing payroll.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Working knowledge of current payroll practices, including but not limited to roster management, leave accruals and TOIL accruals.
  • Working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and Modern Awards, ensuring that you remain up to date of employment law and compliance requirements.
  • Previous experience working within the mining/resources industry will be highly regarded.
  • Ability to work autonomously while building collaborative relationships.
  • Ability to analyse and communicate financial information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
