Kmart Department Manager Opportunity

Are you a motivated and results-driven individual looking for a challenging role in retail management? We are seeking an experienced Department Manager to join our team at Kmart Gungahlin.

About the Role

As a Department Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of sales associates and ensuring the smooth operation of our store. You will be responsible for recruiting, training, and developing your team members, as well as maintaining high standards of customer service and sales performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a team of sales associates to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service
  • Recruit, train, and develop team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively
  • Maintain high standards of store appearance and ensure that all areas of the store are clean and well-maintained
  • Monitor and control stock levels, including ordering and receiving stock
  • Manage and control store expenses, including labor costs and inventory
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to drive sales growth and improve customer engagement

Requirements

  • Experience in a retail management role, preferably in a big box or high-volume retail environment
  • Proven track record of delivering results and achieving sales targets
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
