Welding Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Welding Trades Worker to join our team at Con Group Pty Ltd T/A Sweep Marine Services.
About the RoleThis is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified welder to work with a well-established marine cleaning and refinishing company on the Gold Coast.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements and plan work accordingly.
- Select, clean, and prepare metal stock for fabrication and welding.
- Cut marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches, and metal cutting machines.
- Shape and bend metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering.
- Align parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments.
- Join metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting, and riveting.
- Examine welds for width of bead, penetration, and precision.
- Finish products by cleaning, polishing, filing, and bathing in acidic solutions.
- Clean and smooth welds by filing, chiselling, and grinding.
- Assist with and supervise all aspects of training, set up, installation, operation, and pack down of Confined Space Entry and other High-Risk Activities.
- Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments, and other safety assessments to support Workplace Health & Safety Management.
- Assist in the development of Safe Work Method Statements and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Certificate III in Welding or above.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- A current Australian or International Driver's Licence.
- A current Confined Space Entry Certificate RIIWHS204D.
