Job Description:

The Mental Health Worker will be part of a team delivering quality primary health care services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Mackay region. The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of local health systems and mental indigenous health within the Mackay and surrounding regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of programs and services that improve the mental health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Work collaboratively with the SEWBU Team to provide high-quality mental health services that meet the needs of the community.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community members, healthcare providers, and other organizations.
  • Provide education and training to community members on mental health and wellbeing topics.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Certificate IV in Mental Health and a full-time commitment. You will also need to have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
