At the Victorian Institute of Teaching, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Professional Conduct Branch.
This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who is passionate about using their expertise to support regulation of teachers.
The role will contribute to achieving strategic objectives, meeting community expectations, and providing for the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
About the Role
This fixed-term position offers an outstanding career opportunity for a professional who is passionate about investigations and regulatory work.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and triaging incoming matters, preparing detailed reports, and analysing large volumes of information to inform assessments.
They will also provide specialist support to enable high-quality assessments and regulatory activity to be undertaken within agreed timeframes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have sound knowledge of conducting investigations and/or undertaking suitability assessments in a regulatory context.
You will also have strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as very well-developed organisation and planning skills.
Attention to detail, demonstrated influencing and negotiation skills, proven organisational awareness, and demonstrated problem-solving skills underpinned by sound analytical capability are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and triage incoming matters based on sound risk assessment.
- Prepare detailed reports that provide authoritative advice and make recommendations on complex issues.
- Analyse large volumes of information, identify issues, and source relevant information and documentation to inform the assessment.
- Demonstrate accountability in respect of managing risk to the safety and wellbeing of children.
- Provide specialist support to Senior Investigators and the Investigations Manager.
- Communicate clearly, effectively, and sensitively with registered teachers.
- Work collaboratively across the institute to contribute to the delivery of outcomes aligned with the Strategic Plan.
