Equipment Operations Specialist

This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of various types of equipment to provide a comfortable environment within the hospital.
Duties and Responsibilities- Operate and maintain mechanical equipment such as compressors, chillers, generators, turbines, and steam boilers to meet optimal performance levels.
- Maintain accurate records of daily operations and plant logs to ensure effective tracking and monitoring.
- Perform routine repairs and replace worn parts on equipment to prevent downtime and ensure continuous operation.
- Conduct regular maintenance tasks on refrigeration equipment and hot water heaters to guarantee efficiency and effectiveness.
- Address electrical and electronic issues and perform installations to resolve problems promptly.
- Clean and inspect mechanical rooms and powerhouse to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
- Respond to requests from Hospital staff for assistance with equipment-related issues.
- Assume the role of Fire Marshall when required, taking charge of fire safety procedures and protocols.
- A valid certification of qualification issued under the Operating Engineers Act of the Province of Ontario.
- The ability to complete on-the-job training to become familiar with plant layout and specific types of equipment within a month.
