Industrial Relations Specialist for Renewable Energy Projects

We're driving the transition to a more sustainable energy future, and we need an experienced Industrial Relations Manager to join our team.

About the Project

UGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink's delivery of CopperString 2032, a $5 billion project that will connect Queensland's North-West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid.

The project scope includes:

  • 500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden
  • 330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry
  • 220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isa
  • Up to six new substation sites

Your Role

This exciting opportunity has now commenced construction, and we are looking for an experienced IR Manager to coordinate and lead all industrial activities related to the negotiation, approval, and implementation of project-related Enterprise Agreements.

You will provide expert advice and support to our project team on industrial instruments, relevant legislation, and internal policies. You will also represent the Project in the negotiation and management of enterprise agreements and other industrial instruments.

In addition, you will support and mentor the project HR advisors and leaders with managing industrial relations matters, participate in the Project procurement processes, and ensure all mobilised subcontractors are compliant with all relevant codes prior to contracts being signed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and support to the project team on industrial instruments, relevant legislation, and internal policies
  • Represent the Project in the negotiation and management of enterprise agreements and other industrial instruments
  • Support and mentor the project HR advisors and leaders with managing industrial relations matters
  • Participate in the Project procurement processes to ensure compliance with relevant codes
  • Ensure all mobilised subcontractors are compliant with all relevant codes prior to contracts being signed
