Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Speech Pathologist to join our Speech Pathology Department at Mackay Base Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a critical role in the development and delivery of our inpatient rehabilitation service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality speech pathology services to patients in our inpatient rehabilitation unit, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders.
- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote optimal patient outcomes.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures, ensuring best practice in speech pathology care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing evidence-based solutions.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff on speech pathology-related topics.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent qualification.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Experience in inpatient rehabilitation settings, preferably in a regional or rural area.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
