About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team in a stunning five-star luxury environment. As the island mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining our fleet of vehicles and mechanical equipment to ensure smooth resort operations.

Your preventative maintenance approach will help minimize equipment failures, providing guests with a trouble-free experience. You will approach each task with dedication and pride, maintaining high standards.

This is an on-island casual 6-month fixed-term contract, requiring relocation to Hayman Island. In return, you will experience a unique tropical island lifestyle combined with a challenging maintenance role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair a range of vehicles and mechanical equipment
  • Perform routine checks and maintenance to prevent equipment failure
  • Work effectively as part of a team to deliver exceptional guest experiences
About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Queensland safety induction White Card
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and reporting tools like HotSoS, Hardcat
  • Knowledge of general engineering tools, vehicle electric diagnosis, and hydraulic operations
  • Physical fitness to work on your feet most of the day and perform bending and kneeling tasks
  • A valid Queensland driver's license and compliance with local driving laws
  • Excellent communication skills, being warm, welcoming, and approachable
