Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated mechanic to maintain our fleet of vehicles and mechanical equipment on Hayman Island.

About the Role

This is a 6-month fixed-term casual contract role that requires relocation to Hayman Island. You will be responsible for minimizing equipment failures and providing guests with a trouble-free experience through preventative maintenance approaches.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality in all tasks
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance and repairs
  • Conduct diagnostic tests on vehicles and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols
About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Queensland safety induction White Card
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and reporting tools like HotSoS, Hardcat
  • Knowledge of general engineering tools, vehicle electric diagnosis, and hydraulic operations
  • Experience with marine vessels is preferred
  • Physical fitness to be on your feet most of the day and perform bending and kneeling tasks
  • A valid Queensland driver's license and compliance with local driving laws
  • Excellent communication skills, being warm, welcoming, and approachable
