Senior Data Governance Analyst Role Summary

As a Senior Data Governance Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in embedding best-practice data governance and driving quality initiatives across the enterprise. Your expertise will be essential in supporting business stakeholders to make informed decisions by providing accurate and reliable data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Governance Frameworks: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and continuously improve data governance frameworks, policies, and standards that align with regulatory requirements.
  • Critical Data Elements (CDEs): Partner with business teams to define, document, and embed CDEs into core processes, ensuring seamless integration and maximum value extraction.
  • Championing Data Quality: Contribute to the rollout and ongoing management of data quality frameworks, supporting stakeholders in identifying and resolving quality issues, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Metadata Management: Leverage metadata management platforms like Alation to ensure data is well-catalogued, discoverable, and trusted, enabling efficient data-driven decision-making.
  • Engagement & Influence: Collaborate with stakeholders across the business, technology, and risk teams to drive data governance initiatives, promote data awareness, and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in senior data governance, data management, or data quality roles, ideally within superannuation or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of APRA regulations and data-related standards.
  • Demonstrated success implementing data governance frameworks and managing CDEs.
  • Hands-on experience with data quality programs and tools, and metadata management platforms.
  • Deep understanding of data quality concepts, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to engage and influence at all levels.
  • A curious, analytical mindset and a drive to improve and innovate.
  • Tertiary qualifications in technology, data, risk and compliance or related discipline.
