We are seeking a seasoned leader to join our team as an Operations Supervisor. This critical role involves overseeing the safe, efficient, and effective operation of our development function.
This strategic position requires a leader who is both a visionary and a hands-on manager, able to balance people, process, and performance to create a high-functioning team that meets and exceeds its goals.
The responsibilities outlined below require a professional with exceptional leadership skills, experience in Mine Operations, and a strong understanding of lean methodologies and problem-solving techniques.
About the Role
- Lead and manage a team of skilled professionals to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective operation of our development function.
- Drive continuous improvement through lean methodologies and problem-solving techniques, working to optimize production processes to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Ensure strict compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental regulations, prioritizing safety as the highest value, conducting regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and success, making sound, data-driven decisions.
- Effectively allocate resources and promptly resolve any operational issues.
- Communicate effectively with your team, supervisors, and other stakeholders, building and maintaining strong relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a leadership position or similar operation/industry.
- Hold or be willing to complete Schedule 26 - Statutory Supervisor accreditation.
- In-depth knowledge of Mine Operations, ideally mine development – topsoil and overburden stripping, secondary overburden removal, stockpile and ramp construction, blast pattern preparation.
