Financial Reconciliation Specialist

The Financial Reconciliation Specialist will assist the Senior Accountant in maintaining the integrity of bank and general ledger clearing accounts through reconciliation activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring daily bank account reconciliations, performing extensive data analysis and investigation on unreconciled deposits and/or system-side transactions, ensuring these are cleared on a timely basis.
  • Investigating any variances in clearing accounts on a timely basis.
  • Performing monthly general ledger reconciliation of accounts allocated to the Receivables team with accuracy and ensuring that any variances are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Identifying and escalating any issues apparent within the reconciliations that may pose a financial or reputational risk.

Requirements include:

  • Ability to analyse large amounts of data from different source systems quickly and accurately to ensure quality of work.
  • Problem-solving skills, numerical calculations, and data interpretation in various situations.
  • Experience completing bank and clearing account reconciliations within an organisation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office365 suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work to schedule and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills, especially for issue escalation.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented work environment.
  • Basic understanding of accounting and/or book-keeping principles.
