About the Role:This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled facilities manager to lead and supervise facilities and administrative staff, providing training, performance evaluations, and professional development. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in facilities management and security operations, ideally within the defence industry.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure that all facilities are maintained to a high standard, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, tag & test, and general maintenance.
- Develop and implement maintenance programs and schedules to avoid downtime and maximise the lifespan of company assets.
- Manage operational budgets and resources, optimise processes to reduce costs, and support strategic goals through effective allocation of space, equipment and services.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and contractors, ensuring compliance with organisational standards and legal requirements.
- Manage access control systems, visitor management, and contractor compliance, ensuring secure handling of sensitive information and equipment.
- Ensure sensitive information is handled and protected in line with security protocols and government policies, using secure systems for managing clearance information.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Proven experience in facilities management and security operations, ideally within the Defence or a similarly regulated industry.
- Knowledge of Australian Defence security regulations, including the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP), Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) and other Defence-specific security protocols and relevant legislation.
- Experience in managing physical office spaces and coordinating maintenance and safety compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively, with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience coordinating with external vendors and contractors.
- Current or reinstatable Australian Defence security clearance (minimum NV1 level).
