Key Leadership Role in Major Gifts Fundraising

The University of Sydney is seeking a Deputy Director of Development to play a key role in building fundraising revenue through developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program with a major gifts focus.

This position works closely with senior development leaders to identify and develop fundraising priorities and strategies as we grow our major gifts team and diversify our activities.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Developing and leading the implementation of a strategic plan for major gifts fundraising, including identifying and cultivating key donors and prospects.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior university leaders, academic departments, and other development teams.
  • Leveraging emotional intelligence, leadership skills, and experience managing high-performing teams to drive results and meet financial targets.
  • Mentoring and coaching junior development colleagues to enhance their skills and knowledge.
