Child Protection Caseworker Role

We are seeking experienced child protection professionals to undertake assessments, identify and address safety and risk concerns for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people
  • Engage in collaborative practice that respects the culture and context of each child, young person and their carers/family
  • Source timely, accurate and comprehensive information to inform evidence-based decisions
  • Model ethical and curious casework that is responsive to changing needs
  • Build relationships with stakeholders to promote meaningful change in families for better outcomes
  • Develop and maintain networks and relationships with partner agencies to deliver holistic services
  • Participate in continuous learning and professional development to ensure contemporary practice knowledge and skills
  • Maintain accurate and objective client records for reporting and information sharing
  • Initiate action in the Children's Court where required
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years' frontline experience in statutory child protection services or within statutory investigation services
  • Excellent analytical, assessment and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, highly developed critical thinking and problem-solving, and excellent interpersonal and self-management skills
  • A valid driver's licence (P1 or above) and a paid Working with Children clearance number
