Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Child Protection Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary service model, you will be responsible for assessing safety and risk concerns for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Undertake thorough assessments to identify and address safety and risk concerns for children and young people
  2. Engage in collaborative practice that acknowledges and respects the culture and context of each child, young person, and their carers/family
  3. Source timely, accurate, and comprehensive information to inform evidence-based decisions
  4. Model ethical and curious casework that is responsive to the changing needs of children, young people, and families
  5. Develop and maintain networks and relationships with partner agencies and other stakeholders to deliver holistic and coordinated services

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years' frontline experience in statutory child protection services or within statutory investigation services
  • Excellent analytical, assessment, and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build positive working relationships and work collaboratively as part of a team
