The position is responsible for improving the emotional, social and mental wellbeing of children, young people, parents/carers and their families where there has been a confirmed history of violence and neglect.
This program provides specialist counselling and interventions to voluntary clients within their family system (children, young people, parents and carers) The program providers: Trauma informed interventions and responses, Case coordination that includes intake, assessment, case planning and referral functions, Client focussed advocacy, liaison and consultation, Consultation in relation to child protection matters to other health professionals as part of the team's service delivery.
A genuine child-centred, family focused approach, collaborating across services to ensure clients receive the service they need, when they need it.
We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity.
Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational therapy or other relevant counselling degree deemed appropriate by employer, with experience working in the health or human services.
Demonstrated extensive post graduate clinical experience in providing counselling, groupwork, parenting and case management interventions to clients where child protection, violence, neglect and trauma incidents has occurred.
Demonstrated experience in engaging with families where there are service hesitancy or barriers.
Employment Type: This is a part-time (.8 FTE) permanent opportunity.
