Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our Central Capabilities team in Risk Technology at Macquarie.

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our cloud-based systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and security of our cloud resources. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on AWS and experience with Confluent Kafka, including setup, configuration, and management of clusters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement cloud-based systems to support our existing Kafka platform and build new tools/technologies as part of a central platform.
  • Maintain the scalability, performance, and security of our cloud resources.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operation of cloud systems.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer or DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on AWS.
  • Proven experience with Confluent Kafka, including setup, configuration, and management of clusters.
  • Strong understanding of AWS services, particularly those related to computing, storage, networking, and security.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Knowledge of additional messaging systems (e.g., AWS SQS, SNS) will be beneficial.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana) and log management solutions.
