Green Space Maintenance Specialist

Monash City is seeking a highly motivated, qualified and experienced individual to work in the Horticultural Services Department as part of the Parks and Gardens team on a fixed-term contract.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a range of parks and gardens using sound horticultural skills, including garden bed maintenance, grass maintenance, tree care, irrigation maintenance, path maintenance, tree planting, water features and pest and disease control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain parks and gardens using sound horticultural skills.
  • Operate and maintain horticultural plant and equipment, including vehicles, ride-on mowers, small plant and pesticide spraying equipment.
  • Work cooperatively with team members, stakeholders and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational obligations under the OHS Act and relevant council policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Trade certificate in Parks and Gardens or Certificate III in Horticulture.
  • Farm Chemical Users Certificate.
  • Medium Rigid Truck licence and traffic management training preferable.
  • Current manual Victorian driver's licence.
  • Satisfactory National Police Check.
