Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled gardener to lead the planning, preparation, and implementation of landscape improvements using their horticultural knowledge to operate machinery safely and maintain plant equipment to ensure high standards of open space management aligning with organizational goals.

The successful candidate will support the implementation and quality systems by adhering to Occupational Health and Safety practices, reporting hazards and faults, and providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders while collaborating with the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe operation of machinery and undertake work in accordance with safe work practices and Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
  • Assist in the implementation and contribute to our Occupational Health and Safety system in relation to works in parks and open spaces.
  • Assist in completion of plant maintenance checklists and perform routine maintenance on plant and machinery.
  • Contribute to auditing processes by reporting hazards, faults, defects, and opportunities for continuous improvement via an internal request sheet.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

  • Industry-related trade qualification or apprenticeship in Horticulture or an associated discipline is required.
  • Experience in delivering minor improvement works in public open space and private industry.
  • Experience with garden and landscape design and construction.
  • Experience in the safe operation of equipment and machinery in a commercial environment.
  • Current valid Victorian Driver's Licence.
