The Town Planner will play a pivotal role in driving positive change in the community, leveraging their expertise to foster sustainable growth through economic development, environmental stewardship, and social progress.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Urban and Regional Planner to join a dynamic team on a fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering the strategic and statutory planning functions, reviewing and updating planning schemes, structure plans, and local planning strategies.
Key responsibilities include assessing and processing development applications, providing expert advice on land development projects, and supporting service delivery in planning, land use, development, and Crown Land Administration programs.
The ideal candidate will possess a tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent, with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Strong knowledge of legislation, local laws, regulations, and acts is essential.
Responsibilities- Assess and process development applications in line with applicable legislation and local planning framework.
- Provide expert advice on land development projects and support growth initiatives.
- Support and deliver planning, land use, development, and Crown Land administration programs to achieve sustainable community outcomes.
- Contribute to the review and update of planning schemes, structure plans, local planning strategies, and scheme amendments.
The successful candidate will possess:
- A tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in urban and regional planning.
- Strong knowledge of legislation, local laws, regulations, and acts.
This position offers a competitive remuneration package, including a base salary, housing allowance, location allowance, superannuation, regular RDOs, annual leave, and eligibility for long service leave.
