
Pupil Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to support our teaching team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference in the lives of young people.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for mentoring and supporting one pupil or a small group of up to six pupils. They will work closely with the Classroom Teacher during lessons, report on pupils' progress, and liaise with staff to meet pupils' needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Mentor and support one pupil or a small group of up to six pupils
- Support the Classroom Teacher during lessons
- Report on pupils' progress and liaise with staff to meet pupils' needs
- Supervise pupils during non-classroom times, including extracurricular activities and trips
- Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation
- Set work and mark where appropriate
- Build positive relationships with pupils to promote interaction and learning outcomes
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Mathematics, and good IT skills
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting
- Willingness to take additional responsibilities in areas like Food Hygiene, Forest School, Lunchtimes, or Yoga
- Experience in behaviour management techniques
- Commitment to professional development and learning
- Will to undergo an Enhanced DBS check prior to starting
