
WHS Safety Specialist

As a key player in our organization, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact on workplace health and safety. We are currently seeking an experienced WHS Officer to join our team.
This is a fantastic chance to work with a motivated and innovative group of professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional results. As a WHS Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our health and safety management system.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining accurate records of incidents, inspections, hazard logs, and corrective actions
- Engaging with managers, supervisors, and employees through consultation mechanisms and coordinating committee functions
- Promoting a positive, proactive safety culture by providing practical guidance and support
- Contributing to the development and review of policies and procedures
- Assisting in creating and monitoring operational plans, ensuring progress against objectives and targets
- Supporting training programs, ensuring clear and effective guidance is provided
- Conducting or assisting with hazard identification, incident investigations, safety inspections, and risk assessments
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Health, Risk Management, or related discipline
- Relevant WHS certification (e.g., Grad Dip WHS, or equivalent)
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in WHS roles, with exposure to multi-site or national operations
- Demonstrated experience in WHS management systems, risk management, incident investigation, and compliance with Australian WHS legislation
- Proven ability to provide practical advice, lead safety initiatives, and influence workplace culture
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, and best practice
