About the Role

The Royal Women's Hospital is seeking an experienced social worker to join our Cornelia program, a pioneering initiative that provides housing and support services to pregnant women and new mothers experiencing homelessness.

As a social worker in this role, you will play a vital part in supporting women and babies through individual case management and group activities. You will also be involved in complex assessments and referrals to specialist community-based services.

A typical day will involve:

  • Assessing and supporting women and infants during their stay in the Cornelia program
  • Liaising with partner organisations, internal hospital programs, and external stakeholders
  • Making referrals to relevant community and health services
  • Facilitating and organising group activities within the Cornelia program
About You

We are looking for a skilled social work practitioner who can work effectively in a small, multi-disciplinary team across hospital and community sites.

You will bring:

  • Excellent assessment skills
  • Experience working with women with complex needs in AOD, mental health, and family violence
  • Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams
  • Good organisational and written skills
