This role provides an opportunity to work with individuals and families in need, supporting them to access essential services and build a brighter future.
The Integrated Homelessness Supported Accommodation Program is a collaborative model that brings together specialist supports to assist those in need. As a Support Worker, you will be part of a team dedicated to delivering holistic and trauma-informed support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients
- Support clients to meet their basic needs in a culturally safe and compassionate way
- Provide practical assistance, including transport and monitoring, to ensure client safety and well-being
- Actively advocate on behalf of clients to ensure access to appropriate services
- Collaborate with team members to deliver consistent and coordinated support
- Ensure client outcomes are achieved by following best practice approaches and service protocols
- Complete required administrative tasks accurately and on time
Requirements for Success:
- Previous experience in a similar role within homelessness, human services or mental health
- Strong MS Office skills and willingness to learn new systems
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of Aboriginal cultural protocols and ability to build respectful relationships
- Ability to remain calm, resilient and adaptable when supporting clients with complex needs
- Strong time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Full driver licence with no restrictions
