Job Overview

The Chief of Police oversees the District's Police Department, responsible for maintaining safety and security services at each campus and all district locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides leadership to the Police Department.
  • Ensures enforcement of laws on campus; coordinates police staff response to alarms and radio calls.
  • Supervises investigations of crimes and other violations occurring on district campuses.
  • Coordinates and evaluates Campus Safety Department for receiving complaints and requests for assistance from students, visitors, and campus personnel.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission-approved police officer training academy and a bachelor's degree or higher in administration of justice, police science, or a related field.
  • Seven years of increasingly responsible law enforcement experience, including two years in a supervisory or management capacity.
